Dave,

I can measure my Challengers today, (Origional 440/4 speed Dana) but I think it is longer than a Cuda's.

I was looking at the book page you mentioned.   For the 70 Challys, it says 340, 383s are 45.60".  for all transmissions.  Next line it says 440/426 with automatics are 43.60".    The driveshaft part number given for each shaft is the same.  What gives?  I need to get a driveshaft for my 70 with a 440/727/8.75....but before I can get it made I need a GOOD measurement.  Which is correct??

I think they are 2" OFF.
This has been discussed before, that is how i got the link. 440 has same tranny as 383, so they should be the same.  The only change may be if a Dana 60 was used instead of a 8 3/4.

1)  So what is the correct length (C to C on u joints) for a 70 chally 440/727/8.75?
2)  Is this length different for the same combo in a 70 Barracuda?
3)  Is this length different than 71 and later Challengers?  did the wheelbase change between years and Ply. vs. Dodge??

Dave,

Contact Joint Clucth and Gear by us.  They will probably tell you what measurement they need and will make one up for you.
