1968 Charger for sale 18K OBO
« on: February 03, 2008 - 02:19:45 PM »
Car is not in mint condition and should be considered a work in progress. I purchased the car in April 07 and have put maybe 10 miles on it. Got it in Americus GA and trailored it to Beaufort SC, where it is now. I have it registered and a title thou the owner i bought it from had no title. I havent done a thing to the car and this is what i know it needs.

Biggest areas of concern: Thr trunk, it needs a new trunk pan along with a new gas tank. It has been repaired, i assume due to rust, with some sort of a mesh filler and also a racing gas tank with a toggle switch starter has been installed. It works fine however, if i were to keep the car, i would want to replace it.

The paint looks good from 20 ft but up close, it resembles a backyard paint job. There are a few spots where it appears they have filled in with bondo but didnt sand it down and painted over it. The pics should display this.

Not so major items of need:
I also do not have several chrome pieces. Missing is the front and rear window chrome along with some of the shorter peices around the doors. I have 2 Charger callout chrome tags but cannot figure out how they match up to the holes in the grill and rear of the car.

The motor runs good but i would want to tune it up and tinker with the timing. It idles high so that needs to be adjusted. The gas pedal is to tight and also needs adjusting. Original motor was 318 now has a 440 which i was told was rebuilt. Has a demon 4bl card, hooker competition headers, msd ignition and other high performance items.

Interior looks good and from the pics, you can tell i havent cleaned it. The seats are in good shape thou i doubt they are original. Headliner also in good shape, looks to be new. Guages dont really work or most of them dont. I havent replaced any of the fuses so some may work after that, maybe not. Interior lights as well, some work, some dont. Carpet is ok i guess, dirty.

This is about all i can think of right now. I plan on posting it for sale on several sites, looking to get close to 18K thou i paid more then that for it. I am not interested in any trades and the buyer is responsible for pickup. Please dont think this is a mint condition or close to it Charger. I suggest if you are interested in it that you plan to look at the car in person, so you are not surprised upon delivery. Sorry for the rambling add. pics below and i have more if needed.
