3rd member question

I'm thinking of bidding on this item :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=110212671066&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI

My question is, I've got a 489 case and this is a 741 case.  Can I remove the sure grip and gears and use them in my case?  I think I've asked this before but can't remember......if I can pick this case up for cheap money, then I'll be all set with newer gears and a better carrier.

Thanks!   :2thumbs:

The gears won't swap because the pinion sizes are different, so the gears are specific to the case.

If you can get it cheap enough, why not just swap it in? It will live behind your current small block, and so long as you aren't running the 440 at the track, would live in a big block crusier application.

well I just figured I'd stay with the 489 case and change out the carrier....I've got a guy who will do it really cheap for me so I just wanted to keep the strongest case and build it with what I want instead of changing it out later.
