uneven ride height with S.S. springs ????
« on: January 07, 2008 - 05:03:07 PM »
I recently installed super stock springs on my '70 CUDA.  Obviously the right spring is stiffer with more leaves to resist the body torsion off the line.  This sounds great when I'm launching but now the right side of the car is about 1/2" higher than the left all the time.   Is this normal with S.S. springs or do I have another problem??   I am considering putting a 1/2" lowering block on the right side to compensate.   Has anyone else had this problem?  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks-

I believe that is normal for the SS springs, but not 100% sure.

Common problem.
The solution in the early 70s was too crank up the driver's side torsion bar to lift the left side a little bit.

most cars do not exactly level with SS springs , the cure as suggested above is to crank the opposite T bar

After cranking the t-bar up, don't forget to have the front end alignment re-checked...    :2thumbs:

Thanks for that info guys.  I will try that approach before considering the lowering block.
