Hi, all. I'll be moving out of state this spring, and I've got 2 - 1970 auto consoles that I'd like to sell before I leave. Both of them have the always-present crack by the shiftgate. One of the consoles is in very good shape, with the exception of the crack. The console lid is very good, not sprung, has the lanyard on the inside like it should. The metal plate is in pretty decent shape, as is the woodgrain decal. It does have the correct 4 screwholes in it.
The other console is more of a daily driver, I would say. A previous owner filled in a 1/2" hole at the very front of the console ( maybe for a tach? ). The plug he used from another console, it looks like, but the grains do not quite match up. In addition, the console lid, while also in very good shape, is sprung somewhat. It does have the lanyard in it. Last, there is a vertical crack starting up the inside wall ( at the right side of the console ) that is directly across from the typical crack by the shiftgate. The crack on this one is about 3" in front of the shiftgate. The metal plate is in good shape, as is the woodgrain decal, but this metal shiftplate has the 5 screwholes for attaching to the console, and not the 4 that would be correct for this year.
I'm guessing on the prices here, but I'd like to see $ 125.00 for the driver-quality one, $ 175.00 for the real nice one. Of course, if I'm way out of line here, please tell me! Just looking to sell them for a fair price, that's all.
