Speaking of 2008 Calendars------
« on: January 10, 2008 - 01:10:32 PM »
I certainly hope that when the C-C.Com 2008 Calendar is produced, that we don't face trouble from Ma Mopar.  I say that because of what Ford is doing to these folks (Black Mustang Club) and their calendar.  Site Founder Lisa sums it up in post # 42. Check it out:

I hear you OldSchool.....I sure hope not either.....Let's hope Chrysler (isn't it Mercedes now?) isn't as picky as Ford.  :nono:

:dunno: Actually "our" calendar is C-C.C website, not Mopar or Mopar related other than photos of privately owned E-bodies. The Mopar copyright would not be infringed upon, right?

I was thinking that was the deal on the Mustang site also.   :dunno:  Those were privately owned members cars pictures that were to be used on their calendar and Ford claimed proprietorship of the pics beacuse they were of Ford products.  Doesn't seem even remotely right to me....    :grinno:   Our cars that we purchased should be our cars to do whatever we want to with them, including using images of OUR cars however WE want...   :grinyes:

We thought Ma Mopar was bad when they went after clubs and web sites using the word Mopar but those freakkin ford lawyers are even worse!Another great way to spend a struggling company`s resources-pi$$ off the guys who buy your product.  :villagers:

Maybe someone could contact who ever needs contacting at Mopar and ask if they would be interested in sponsering the calenders and have a picture of some Mopar parts, crate engines, etc etc, as an advert in the graph side of the calender and keep the pictures of the E-bodys clean of adverts ? :dunno:

That is ridiculous!!!

I mean as long as Ford cannot claim to still hold the title of a car, then it is in no way their property.  Because the original person who purchased the car purchased the rights of Ford to own, operate, and do as they please with the vehicle.  I doubt this will stand up in court, but Ford knows that most people will not challenge a huge company in fear of losing more than just the pictures.
