Hey, I got 2.76's too!  I got it all, big block, good mileage, stand-out color...

:roflsmiley:  Just kidding of course.  The only reason that I'm keeping the 2.76's is because everything else is so original.  If I were you, I'd go at least 3.55...   :grinyes:

What trans are you running?  An automatic?  I have 4.10s in my car and it is a blast to drive.  I have 3" exhaust, its dumped, and its loud.  Its a muscle car, I want loud and fast.   Every passenger I've had ride along with me has had this huge grin on their face for some reason when they get out.  I don't know why though....  :grinyes: How will your 440 be built?  My car has a big cam in it so anything under 2500 rpm it hates, so the 4.10s are perfect for it.  I cruise at 60 at about 3200 rpm.

I replaced the factory 3.23 with a sure grip 3.91
Made a huge difference in GO power, but it also puts more RPMs on the engine.

I've got a 904 (3-speed auto) in it now.  I plan to run a 727 for my 440 until I can get my 4-speed setup that I've been wanting.  As of right now, I plan to build my 440 a little on the over conservative side.  I'd like to stroke it to a 496 and go from there.  I've got a guy who will do the motor and he's done nothing but touch 440's his whole life.  He knows them inside and out and is honest and fair about his prices.  I'm going on his guide for most things, but he's also giving me options (which when presented to me I will get opinions from everyone here too), which I like.

I hear you about the big smile; my neighbor's got a 68 Barracuda with a 426 hemi in it......what a machine.  He's got 3.55's with 3" exhaust and I got to ride in it for the first time last week.... :woohoo:  is all I can say.....what a blast that was.  I'm with you; I've got a muscle car, I want it loud and bad....if you want to hold a conversation with me, do it before we get in the car cause there's no talking once I'm drivin'!!  :burnout:

I've got 4:89's in the T/A. Lots of fun around town, not much on the highway. In the Road Runner I have 3:55's. They work great on the highway with the 275X60X15 tires.
