Man that last post is hypnotizing. I am really surprised at some of the posts on this one. It is the first time that I have actually seen someone called out like that. If you think the guy is a poser than don't read any of his messages or responses. Personally, I don't think there is any need for calling the guy out like that.
Iv seen it done a few times before, ushually for good reason tho.

1968 Charger: 426 Hemi V8 425: 0-60 in 5.3 sec, 1/4 mile in 13.8 sec @ 105mph
Couldn't find the specs on a 1969, but 1970 was similar.  Assume that the 69 is about the same.  When you compare the 0-60 performance and the weight difference of almost 1500 lbs... WOW!!

I think the original tires back in '68 weren't the best for traction, say, compared to a modern Lotus, implying that the Charger's 0-60 time should have been better, if you'd give it appropriate modern aggressive tires...I'm thinking Mickey Thompson's  :cooldancing:

I'm truly betting that '68 Hemi Charger could hit high 4's for its 0-60.  Not bad, just shy of 2 tons.

its been forever since ive posted here but got a personal message from someone soooo.. while i was browsing my old post i read this one again... LOL

i HAVE HAD ALL of the cars i mentioned plus a few more since then....Actually we ended up finding a 74 cuda with a 440. no not numbers matching. we have done alot to it and it is a great ride. XV motors suspension...

I don't lie or brag about cars i have owned...but if you search the web you can find me on porsche sites, ferrari sites, Lotus sites, Lexus sites. and yes there are pictures of all of my cars on those sites!

I LOVE CARS....ALL cars...but they have to be done correctly....i mean hey i have seen plenty of redneck hillbilly stuff done to muscle cars too! JUST because it is a Dodge 60's or 70's car does NOT make it cool.

Sat in some fast classics and imports before. My number one and the most memorable ride was over 30 years ago in a triple black 69 426 HEMI 4 speed Charger. I was slammed and glued to the seat and could not get myself up. It did not have slicks but not stock tires either. My memory might not be fresh but it sure feels faster than my 392 HEMI 6 speed. The sound, feel and smell of that 426 HEMI just can't be matched.

Just read most of this thread and I'm glad there's guys like flyguy; if we all had and thought the exact same thing about these cars we'd be pretty damn boring. For the record, I HAVE seen a 1000hp Supra AND the Ford p/u that it flipped over when the mechanic test driving it ran underneath it. They're fast, make no doubt about it and the tires don't give a damn what nameplate is on the deck lid when they're spinning. How about posting some of the pics of your cars flyguy, personally, I'd love to see some.

Nice kill man I gotta say the 4x4 launch in a diesel is no joke. but once they get up to about 60 miles an hour its like throwing a brick in the wind. I know that from experience.
