suspension parts WIW
« on: January 14, 2008 - 12:57:36 PM »
Any idea what the following items are worth. 70 E-body lower control arms, torsion bars, steering bars, sway bar, leaf springs? All from a 70 six pack car with heavy duty suspension. I need prices for the individual parts. A fair swap meet price. Thanks!

Control arms, if they have the sway bar tabs, $50 each. Used torsion bars, IMO worthless, but someone might pay $50 for the pair. Steering bar?? You mean the center link, tie rods, pitman arm or idler arm? Center link maybe $25-50, tie rod sleeves $10 ea. Tie rod ends, pitman and idlers wear, so used ones are worthless, IMO. Leaf spirngs, again, used is not worth much to me, but someone might be willing to give $100 for the pair.

FWIW, new torsion bars are $150-300, new leafs are $200. These are both springs and springs fatigue with use, so if they are used... new tie rod ends are like $25 ea, idlers and pitmans $50 to 150 depending on style and application.

Those prices seem about on par of fair market value.  If you had a six pack K-frame to sell, that's usually worth quite a bit, but the rest of the suspension setup isn't too much when compared to the K-frame. :2thumbs:

I think I just sold one to a member here for 40 or 50 shipped to tx. I can't remember the exact cost. My wife says the check is in my office, but it wasn't expensive :2thumbs:
