How many fish stories are there out there about the one that got away?  I know for a fact that I let several get away from me.

I guess no one ever saw a cuda or challenger that they should have bought and put up in storage?  I know I missed several and have sold several that I should have kept.

One that I never really looked hard at was a 72 Barracuda with a luggage rack and sunroof. I was into the 70-71 cars and did not know how rare a gem that one was. I let a convertible '71 Barracuda go because the floor was rusty and it was a column shift car. B2 blue/blue/blue with 318 and air. The only other one I can remember was a 70 Gran Coupe that a friend was thinking of trading me for my 75 Lincoln Continental. I sure wish that would have happened because about 10 years later after he died of cancer, his widow rolled that car  :walkaway:

Their was a 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible that was imported many years ago that was local to me here in Australia, It was a Red car with White roof and Black&White interior 340 auto.  It was in an accident and was bent like a banana, i was to slack to chase it up as i was young.  The car was bought and fixed and is currently sporting a 440 and now is Midnight Blue with Black trim.

If only i had hindsight................................. :'(

Well, let's see. I was offered a 70 Hemi Challenger, lime green, steel wheels, 22,000 miles, 4-speed, shaker and radio delete in 1981 for $3500, but was just out of High School and couldn't come up with the money immediatly. Took him the cash a month later and he would not sell it, said that was a one time offer, so far as I know he still owns the car but let it sit outside until a bunch of parts were stolen, including the dana. He got mad at me years ago because I wouldn't sell a 68 340 4-speed Barracuda to him that he used to own and race in AHRA pure stock. Also, turned down a 440-6 Superbird for $6000 a couple years later. Oh well, live and learn.

70 Cuda 440-6 Shaker, Auto, Vitamin C, stripe delete, black int. & vinyl top, luggage rack, Magnums, build sheet
71 Cuda conv. 383 4-speed, Rallye red, black top, int. and billboards, 2 complete build sheets

Well I have had several.

1.  1970 Panther Pink Hemi Cuda.   Could have drove it home and it was only $500.00

2.  1970 AAR Red Cuda that I could have bought for $1500.00 and all it needed was to be buffed out.

3.  1970 440-6 B5 That I bought for $1500.00 when I was under 20 and could not get it insured so I sold the Engine and trans to another friend with a cuda and put a 318 in it.  Still could not get insurance on it so my folks made me sell it.

4.  Several others that I can think of like the 1970 Gran Coupe that I miss so much.  It had a leaking fuel tank is the only reason I got rid of it plus the fact that I was getting married so I traded it for a Satilite.

I got serious about finding a Mopar in 1976 - 1977:

Test drove a triple black 70 RT Challenger, U-code with 4-speed for $1500 in 1977, but turned it down cause the title was questionable.

Missed out on a 70 hemicuda for $3000 also in 1977, sold a couple of hours before I responded to the For Sale ad in the local paper.

Turned down a 71 RT Challenger V-code becuase it was an SE - didn't want the small back window (Plus the guy wanted $2500 for it).  To bad though, it was heavily optioned including a luggage rack.

Turned down a bench seat, 4-speed hemicuda cuase it had been modified for bracket racing.  Roll-bar, standard dash, no back seat, no window mechanisms.  plexi windows.

Ran across my 70 cuda 440-6 for sale twice before I finally bought it in 1978.  Then stupidly sold it in 1992.

Found a 70, triple black hemicuda vert, guy needed money to pay off a debt, didn't buy it cause I didn't like verts at the time.
