...I have always been a fan of the GTO...since I first rode my bicycle to the local Pontiac dealer to see the unveiling of the 1st GTO in town, a dark blue 64 4-spd, I wanted one, and wanted one bad...finally was able to order one in March 1968

...the only 2 Pontiacs I currently own

...1968 GTO cv, 400 - 4 spd...exactly like my first new car in '68

...1969 GTO Judge, 400 Ram Air III - 4 spd

...pix #3 is the GTO cv I owned in 1968, I thought I was "King of the Street" :roflsmiley:

...pix #4, I even have an Oldsmobile, but it's not "my fathers Oldsmobile"...1969 Hurst Olds, 455-AT (non restored)

Suuuure!   I likey Pontiacs!  They have a certain "class" about them.  I had a '69 LeMans convertible, my family had an '81 Trans Am and an '80 Turbo Trans Am, and I had a '74 Bonneville 400 with a shaker hood scoop (From the '81 Trans Am after it got totalled.  :( )

I would still like to get a 70's Trans Am/Formula Firebird.  I really loved the color combo of my sisters old Trans Am, white with gold eagle/trim and the WS6 handling package/wheels.

Did you guys know that the WS6 handling package included a ratchet shifter (if I'm not mistaken), at least for '81?  You can't really tell by looking unless you look at the plastic thing that slides with the shifter.  On the WS6 cars, the hole that the shifter pokes through the plastic is elongated for ratchet shifting whereas non-WS6 cars just had a round hole.

Here's a pic that I saw of a car that looked just like the one we used to have but not as beatup.  Found it on craigslist a couple months ago.  Haven't seen the color combo with the WS6 wheels/full pinstripe since our old car from the 80's.
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Pic #2 and 3 of my ARII 1/24 scale model car

I've got a 74 TA that I was with the original owner when he bought it.It was in storage since 75 and I brought it home in 03 and its been growing roots in my garage. I haven't done anything to it, too much fun playing with Mopars. Its all original except the waterpump I even have the original wheels and tires.

I have an original 98 trans am with the ram air.  One of 1400 made in that year.  Very hard to get ahold of back in 98.  Wish I was willing to do all those mods as he has done exactly what that car needs.  I just can't bring myself to changing the originality of that car.  I have done nothing to it except added a K&N filter.  43000 miles so far and all but a few are mine.  Oh yeah, I busted the oil pan open with a rock at about 85 miles per hour.  That's what happens when you run the mountain canyons up here in the rockies.  Better to hit the pan than the suspension.
I love that car.  Runs great and was my first new car.  I was 20 and I will have it for a long time.  Bury me in it.
That was  a good sales pitch and had alot of great documention of what he has done to the car.

What's he want for it Al?
Unfortunately you couldn't get the 428 in Firebirds in the three years that the engine was produced.  Only 400 and lower.
The 428 is my favorite pontiac engine.  I havn't played with a 421 yet, but I have one that is original to my 2+2.  Cracks in the valley need to be fixed on the 421.
I am not saying that there might be one out there that is dealer installed but I would have to actually see a build sheet from the car and even then I would have a very hard time believing it.  I have not read anywhere about that being available.

Well the actual article reads...1969 pontiac firebird.  428 auto new vinyl top, looks and runs good. 14k firm  256 339 1802.   The other 69 was a 4spd, so I must of mixed the 2 up. There's like 2 dozen listings on cars like this 70 ss chevelles for 7500 77 vette 5800  70 z28 camero 4 spd 2700   65 66 67 68 69 mustangs all different prices , 67 camero, 69 camero, 72 chevelle, 69 beetle, 66 a-100 383, 69 rr 383.  It's always like taking a trip down memory lane around here in the paper. trucks from the 30's through the 70's too :2thumbs:

When I came back down south last fall I couldn't find Mopars for sale for the life of me.  Tons of chevy's and ford's sitting in yards and in the papers but man was finding a Mopar difficult.  Did noone purchaee them back in the day down there or have they all just rusted to the ground?  Maybe it's just that noone wants to sale them and they stash them real good.
I got a buddy looking for a 30's truck if you see one down there.
