Opinion on Suregrip unit plz...

this is just the suregrip unit correct?  Do the terms 'clutch' or 'cone' reffer to posi only?  Sorry if I'm getting my terms messed up, I just want to be sure if I get this unit it can be rebuilt if needed.

Thanks!  :feedback:

That is a "cone type" sure grip. You won't know if it is "worn out" till you would get in hand and take it apart. You really can't "rebuild" a cone type, you just remove metal from the ends of the cones so they grip on the sides of the cones again instead of the tips.

It's like putting a "band aid' on it, buying a little more time, getting alittle more use out of it before you throw it away.  :icon16:

Get yourself a clutch grip, shouldn't be too bad to rebuild..or even check out before you install it. If i remember right there is a big pin in the center. Get that out, walk the outside spiders out, then the inside pop out, and you can get to your clutches/steelies.

I'd take a cone grip if given, but not buy one used  :2cents:
