Sorry no pics but it goes on the back of the intake and mounts close to the dist in a mounting bracket.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Here is one for a 318.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mopar-Chrome-Ign-Coil-Bracket-V8-and-6cyl_W0QQitemZ280193141496QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item280193141496

The 340 coil bracket has one foot lower and one higher than the other because the 4 barrel manifold has a higher step up web where one bolt connects one side of the bracket. The 318 original 4 bbl. manifold had very low flat intake runners thus was a flat level mounting pattern.

I know this difference because I worked on the Dodge 318 engines for 4 yrs. in the Army replacing engines and owned a 340 before.

I still have the 340 bracket available. PM me if you decide to go that route.

That will be ok also just make sure there is enough slack so when the engine torques it does not pull the wire out.

Mine must not be original then - mine is essentially Q'shaped, just a simple circle that ends in a tab with the other end folded back against the same tab - one bolt goes into the intake.  It's possible that mine isn't original, after seeing the work that an unidentified "Bobby Joe" did on the car before I got it.
