This year will be 20 years since I sold it to my brothers friend.
I had this "thing" about getting a 1970 model year performance MoPar ('Cuda-Challenger-Duster 340- Superbee etc) so I sold it for like 6 grand to go '70 shopping. I found the '70 I was looking for............last F'n January!! Yea I know its an A body..always loved that '70 Duster anyhow.
The Challenger is (was) a '74 rallye pkg. Originally equipped w/318 and auto. Kept the car its original Frost Green w/dark green metallic interior which actually looked really sharp. Ditched the factory magnum 500's for the Cragers in the pics. Of course we were into the PRO-STREET scene during the early 1980's. (Remember Auto-Buff mag??) After losing a street race to a '68 Firebird the 318 was yanked at warp speed and big block 383 installed. This was like '82 I think. We had mismatched crap all about this car (yikes-open 2.76:1 rear!) and the tranny from a '69 Roadrunner sucked. Learned some hard lessons and had my share of embarrasing lost races, but what doesnt kill ya makes ya stronger. It took two years, but me & Todd (todd383) put together one badass piece of MoPar iron. After we installed the 4.56:1 gears and finally got the 383 to scream we NEVER lost another race. And man, all I ever did was race! That seemed to be my purpose in life at the time
