You have any time you could spend on his Charger?...Trade work for partial payment for the Barracuda.   :2cents:
This is actually hilarious if you knew the guy. First of all, he is the best body man I have EVER seen. He has restored other peoples cars and I have seen him do amazing things. I have seen him hand form 71 Roadrunner quarter panels from sheetmetal. (This is an amazing feat when you look at the complex lines of that year Roadrunner). Also, it's not that he really needs the money to get it going again, he just chooses to spend his money on other toys. He has 4 motorcycles and a national record speedboat that he is building a motor for.(he didn't set the record--he bought the boat after the fact)  He's actually a really nice, laid-back fellow. His time, money, and attention is just going towards other things at the moment.

OK,
Now we are getting somewhere.
What exactly are you wanting to do with the 'Cuda ........?

If you take some pictures off from here with ideas of what you would like to do this may be a way of him seeing you are passionate about the car and him being someone who loves what he does, may yeild to such pursuation. :2cents:

I'd just like to get a hold of it and drive it as is right now and slowly fix it up. I'd get a kick out of driving a beater Cuda around and seeing people gawking at me.  :grinyes:

I've done that.  It is a riot.  Everyone asks if you are going to restore it.  I always say why would I restore it?  It runs great.  Then everyone wants to buy it thinking they found a someone with a Cuda who doesn't know what it is.

LMAO both those are hilarious, I have thought the same thing.  I'd like to get a '73 Barracuda out of one guy's yard one day, and I would do the same thing, just drive it.   :2thumbs:  :burnout:

I just happen to have a 73 beater in my garage for sale. Just got the new ignition switch in the mail yesterday to try and get it running this week. Rotten quarters but solid underneath. This is a resell car, that's why I won't be personally driving it around. $8k takes it.

Yeah, it would be fun. He drove it like that for about 5 months or so. He stopped by where I worked several times. The purists would get all bent out of shape seeing me drive that hollering "Restore it Restore it!" We'll see what happens.

Yeah, definately keep woking on him for that Cuda!  Looks kinda cool as it sits. It even has the old Interceptor tires, I had a set of bias plies by that company.  Just keep telling him about how cool it would be to see that Cuda up and running, besides he'll still have the Charger to play with so it's not like he'll have empty nest syndrome...
