Manual (5 speed) options for 5.7L Hemi
« on: February 04, 2008 - 05:13:26 PM »
I am considering converting from an auto to a manual.  What manual options exist for a 5.7L Hemi?  I would like it to be a 5 speed (6 speed just seems like too much money).    Any good leads on purchasing one?

Both Keisler and Classic Mopar 5-speed offer TKO kits for the 5.7.  Just check out their websites.

:iagree: Both use the same transmission (Tremec). Also look into XV Motorsports.

I looked into getting a 5-speed from a -90's Dodge Truck.  I was told from other users here, including Chryco, that it should work.  This way everything is available from a salvage yard for about $300.     One thing about this; The shifter would come out in the middle of the tunnel and you wouldn't need the whole left hump deal.   This might be good for the right hand drive conversions like Carl is doing.

Just for reference, I would never dream of ruining a classic Mopar by converting it to RHD. My 'Cuda is and always was staying LHD. The car I'm converting is a late model (2006) Dodge and has to be converted by law.
