I would rather see that marketed as a Gremlin than a Pacer. The Gremlin was kinda cool in its own way. The Pacer on the other hand was not.

Maybe this time they can actually get a boxer engine for it, from Subaru...?  ;)
I've learnt that the ultimate reason for the Pacer to be a failure was the lack of a promised fuel economic GM boxer engine, and that they instead had to use a big (In this context) old thirsty V8. Hence, it did'nt become the econobox it was intended to be. The design in it self isn't any worse than any contemporary japanese econoboxes, or europeans. Quirks like different sized doors, well, now that was a bit weird... :dunno:

A little Pacer/Gremlin with a Scooby boxer in WRC trim...

I don't know anything abhout the GM boxer engine, but I'm pretty sure that the Pacer never came with a V-8. Gremlins could be had with a 304.
