My favourite Hotrod would have to be the 1949 Mercury Lead Sled. Chop the roof down, add a custom mean looking bumper, cover the rear wheel with that body panel etc, just as in the picture. THAT I will buy if I ever get the chance to have a car beside my Challenger in the garage.

I agree 100% - always liked those Chopped-Top Merc's.  I want mine electric metallic blue with a big-ass chrome bumper and white-wall tires.  I don't want the police spot-light though - make mine shaved with remote pop-door handles.  Maybe a little rear-wheel air bag option with Titanium sparkers...  I'd probably also do the little propane flamers from the exhaust.  Do it right - know what I mean?

I would buy the best 70-71 E-body vert I could find. 4 speed with air preferred.

I'd put 20K into the bodywork and interior on my challenger, 3K into rebuilding the engine, 6K into a 5spd, 10K into a blown fuel injection system for the 440, and the last 10K to live on while I'm in my garage for a year.

get Either 1969 or '73-'74 roadrunner/satellite coupe/ssp in dark green metallic, big fat steel wheels (old school nascar style) in black and spend the rest on a 500 stroker/5spd combo
