challenger/cuda
« on: December 09, 2007 - 01:07:55 PM »
Just a question. What would you say the price difference/value would be between a 70/71 Challenger and a 72-74 Barracuda? Say base model 318 auto car. Exact same condition.

Barracuda worth more?

Challenger, only because of the year comparison you put.

all models of muscle cars start to decline in value after 71. That is is when the gov't polution controls started to kick in and the engines made less HP and the cars performance went down.

70-71 Cudas worth slightly more than equivalent Challengers, just because of lower production numbers and more recent publicity. I think the 72-74 Cudas and challengers are all worth about the same with the base engines and equivalent condition. Maybe 74 a little less valuable.

Yeah production was down to like 6000 Challengers or something crazy in 74...... but i think 70/71's will always prevail. Barracudas seem to be the hot ticket no mater what, i see a whole lot more 72-4 Challengers sitting around then i do Cuda's........  :dunno:

I have had both.  I love the Barracuda's more but if they were given to me I would take any and all.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development
