Abody production numbers help
« on: February 17, 2008 - 10:23:09 PM »
I used to have a 1968 Cuda 383 4 speed fastback.  The current owner is wanting to sell it back to me.  How many were built?  I have the numbers matching motor and trans in my garage.  I sold the original hood with the 383 plates on it years ago when I put a glass hood on it.  Are they available or are they an Ebay item? Also I have found a 1969 Cuda 340 4 speed convertible.  It is rough.  The drivetrain is out and in the owners garage.  It is also numbers matching.  How many were built?  I don't have any pics yet.  I will post them when I get some.

Thanks,
Tod

I don't know the numbers but I would think a BB Abody would be quite rare. If you still own the OEM drivetrain it looks like time to put them back togather. I would think 340 cars are a lot more findable. :2cents:

Here you go, production numbers for the Barracuda.

Sounds like an awesome find, if you got the # match engine then you just got to buy it. :jumping:
That -69 is a rare car too, a vert with a 340 and a 4-speed to top it all.
But then I`m a little biased to those A-bodys

The 68 is just a rolling shell.  It will ned a parts car to put it back together.  It is tubbed and was raced in the early 80's.  The original rear frame rails are still there and the leaf springs were moved onto the frame.  The front inner fenders are gone due to fenderwell headers.  I will see what happens.  If I do not end up with them I will get them posted here so someone on our board gets a chance at them first.  It will take time to get this worked out with these guys.  I know the one guy takes forever to do anything.  The only reason it is worth messing with him is because he has a rare car (1 of 34 according to the link) . Thanks for the help.

That 383 car is worth some decent money and is well worth restoring. My buddy bought  a shell of a `69 road runner six pak car that was tubbed hacked as a drag car and I restored the body using a Satellite parts car.He later sold it but it is now a driver.
