A-Body clutch pedals?
« on: February 14, 2004 - 04:45:06 AM »
Hi everyone, I'm new to your site and wanted to say hello and hopefully get some info. But first a little info about me, I have had  a 70 Dart for about a year and a half. {My first Mopar}  Stroked 400 with a 727  tranny. Lots of fun but just not an E-Body if you know what i mean. I recently acquired a 73 chally and am currently waiting for it to ship. Originally it had an auto, but the previous owner started a 4 speed swap. My first question is will a set of a-body clutch brake pedals work and mount the same as a set of pedals from an e-body car? If they are not compatible does anyone here have a set of E-Body pedals they can stand to part with? Secondly i want to put a big block in the car {orig a 318 car} Do i need to swap the K frame to a big block k frame or do they make mounts for a big block with small k frame?   On the dart i used Schumacher mounts, maybe they have mounts for this too. Do i need an 11 inch bellhousing or can i use the smaller housing with the smaller flywheel? I am not at all knowledgable about 4 speeds, so excuse my ignorance on this matter. Also are all 833 useable with a big block or are there differences between big and small trannys, or are the only differences in the bellhousings? Well that's enough Qs for now , but i am sure i will have more as i try to assemble this from scratch. :) Thanks in advance for any help on this matter, Aaron

well MoparJunky, first of all welcome to the site and im sure you will like it here. there is a lot of knowledge here and lots of people to help with questions if ya need it. unfortunately im not the most knowledgable about a lot of the questions but i can answer some.
the only question of yours that i can answer with confidence is the one about the K frame. no you dont have to change the whole K frame to put a BB into a chally. yes i believe Schumacher has the mounts you'll need. as for the rest of your questions im sure somone by the end of today will be able to answer them for you  ;D

Welcome
The A body pedals do not fit , Keisler has new pedals available
the K frame is the same for all V8s engines except Hemi , you just need a set of the old style block type mounts for the big block

I'm not sure about that. It was just sitting in the background of the pics he sent me.
