.86 six bangers
.88 small blocks
.90 big blocks
.92 hemi, six paks
Roughly. I think a/c equiped cars recieved the next size bigger. It wasn't until the post 73 B bodies with isolated suspension that bars started getting into .94, .96, and .98 sizing.
For about the last ten years or so I've been recommending .96 for small block and 1.0 for big block cars that want late model equivilent handling with a decent ride.
