I could careless about gas but for your sake here is my input. My car has a 440ci stock(ish), headers etc, around 390-400hp. 3.91 with 3.05 in OD. I can/have/could get around 13.8 to 17mpg+ (250 to 300miles a tank). That is of course driving like a granny. 13.8 is not however, over taken normally, just enjoying the car. If you spend most of your time at WOT then like any performance car from 2L to 8.8L+ you're going to eat gas, just part of life lol.

Thought it was common knowledge that you don't worry about gas mileage when you drive musclecars.  :nono:  Why take the enjoyment out of driving these fine machines?  :dunno:

While I agree that nobody buys and drives a musclecar for stupendous gas mileage, Lets try not to be too harsh about the question.  At a predicted 4 bucks a gallon this summer, the fact that my car gets about 10-12 mpg will certainly impact how many days a week I take it on the 35 mile one way jaunt to work.  If gas was free, I would use it every single sunny day.  When it costs me 20 - 25 bucks a day to drive it to work,  I need to be a little more discriminating.

Overdrive swaps aren't popular only because of the driveability. :2cents:

I agree 100%.  Lets not laugh and point because he asked about mileage.  There isnt one person on here that hasnt ever checked their mileage?  If you can do a few things to get better mileage, why not?  Oh well, I'm getting a little off topic here.   :misbehaving:

With gas approaching $4, I checked my mileage today.  It was 14.3mpg with varied driving, 75% hwy speed, 25% stop-n-go.

340/727/3.55

I went golfing and decided to take the car out for a spin.  This added an extra $12 to my round, ouch!

Sometimes it is best to consider the SPG instead of the MPG.  :thumbsup:

Our cars should ONLY use the SPG system.

If you are not familiar with the acronym, it stands for;

Smiles Per Gallon
