With out sounding like a dumb a@@ :dupe: can any one please post some instructions on how to replace the rear leaf springs on a 73' Cuda. I'd like to do as much work as I can. I'm using replacement springs from Mopar. Thanks :worshippy

jack up the car , put stands under the fram & diff , cut the old U bolts off , you do not want to reuse them , unbolt the rear shackles & pry them out of the rear frame & spring eye . Undo the 4 9/16 bolts that hold the front hanger in place & remove the springs from the car , , undo the large front cross bolt , hopefully the bolt is not siezed intot eh front spring eye bushing , you may need to heat the bolt to get it out or worse cut or grind the head off the bolt to get the spring out of the hanger , you may need to replace the bolt with a grade 8 fine thread bolt , reverse the proceedure to assemble

If your springs are the originals, like mine were... I took the easy way out and bought new brackets for the front, along with the long bolt. I also bought new rear shackles after boogering my old ones up trying to get them apart.  :eek4: This is kind of a dirty job, but you can do it.
