Original TA hood WIW
« on: January 27, 2008 - 05:02:15 PM »
I have an original TA hood in fair condition.  Has been painted and some repair in it's life.  Does not flex, seems sturdy.  Just wondering WIW.  Thanks, Chuck

Here are a few pics while it's on the car.  Changing back to the correct RT hood.  The hood feels very sturdy.  I'm not a fiberglass expert but this thing looks like it's in pretty good shape for it's age.  There are a few spider cracks and the small hole you see in the one pic.  I can take more tomorrow.  The previous owners painted the hood to match the body.

Hey folks, going to pick up my new hood tomorrow and would love to know what this is worth.  I have a guy that wanted to trade me an old rusty bulge hood and said it was a good trade because the TA hood is painted.  Told him no thanks.  I know the pics arent great but I would like to know a ballpark figure for these hoods so any help is welcome.  Thanks

It is worth 4-5 hundred to me even with the callout holes and it could be repainted. Thats just me though. Not sure of anyone else :2thumbs:

I would agree, you can get a brand new repro for $700.  Your's needs some work, so $400-$500 would be my estimate.
Definitely don't trade it for a metal hood, unless it's a mint power buldge.

I have one on ePay as well, I got mine from Georga and then had it restored. It looks great but I think I will go to Shaker so I would just like to re coop my cost on it at about 1,500.00 that is my reserve if any one is interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-CHALLENGER-T-A-HOOD_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33646QQihZ015QQitemZ250236247674QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
