Carb behaviours
« on: April 27, 2008 - 03:55:30 AM »
Have a 600 cfm eddy carb on my standardbuild -69 440 HP GTX, problem is that the throttle sometimes "hangs" when I am cruising,
like that the linkage doesn't go all way back. I have tried to get this phenomen when I try it myself on the carb but then it never
happens. All linkage and springs works fine then. Can it be a vaccum/timing/carb issue or rather pure mechanical? :clueless:

When you are trying it under the hood, have you got the air cleaner on or off to try.  Just wondering if anything is rubbing on the aircleaner ? to make it stick.

Another way is if you do not have the roll of the linkage lined up correctly, this sometimes happens when you use standard brackets on after market intakes.

But if it is Carb related one of the other boys can jump in to clue you up on them as i have not yet had much to do with Edelbrock/Carter carbs. :2thumbs:

It's a Airgrabber set up with the big oval aircleaner but as far as I can see it gives clearence to the linkage. Will altough check again.
