Lay of Hood Pins...
« on: April 28, 2008 - 10:04:24 PM »
How exactly are the hood pin cords supposed to lay?  I've seen some that push the pin in from the outer fender in, causing the cord to bend outwards, but I've also seen pins inserted from the front to the back, causing the cord to being inwards.  Anyone know the way they came from the factory?  :dunno:   :clueless:

They are supposed to pull out the front. Think of an under hood fire on a race car......

Yanking the pins from the front is much faster.

I have seen one original car with the pins in from the sides, but they are not "supposed" to be that way.

about 90% of the pictures i have of 'meticulously restored cars' i used to drive around have the pins pulling straight out. The other 10% weren't restored or didnt have pins at all. the hemi dart had them going sideways on the rear, forward in the front :D
