    Spring Fling XII Mopar show in Van Nuys, CA on May 3 & 4, 2008

    Flyers and registrations are onllne at: http://www.cpwclub.com/sf08flyer.pdf We will take pre registrations until Monday April 21st.

    Spring Fling is a Show and Shine on Saturday and we offer judging on Sunday if you want. Any Mopar and all conditions welcome both days. We even have an In-Progress trophy class. The show is entirely held on a shaded tree adorned grass covered park. There’s a shaded picnic area with food court. BBQ’s ok too.

    There are lots of E-bodies at Spring Fling. Bring your show queen, project, daily driver... It's a great oppurtunity to meet other E-body owners and do some valuable networking.

    1st 500 show participants will receive a FREE 8” wall clock valued at $20 shown below and a magnetic show dash plaque:







    This year’s trophies will be elegant laser engraved solid Red Alder wood plaques. Last years trophies:

    Looking at your sig pic, do you own the Mickey Thompson 71 Orange on Orange 4x4 Cuda??

    Do you have a link to the picture of your orange interior Cuda in your sig pic?

    The car I'm thinking of is a 71 383 Cuda that had a 4x4 frame welded under it. It showed up well worn at Spring Fling in 2003 or so. Story goes it was used in the Mickey Thompson off road series events as a show vehicle. Julius got a hold of it then sold it to Mopar Matt, then sold again.

    Now it's restored with transplanted hemi

    Have you been to a Spring Fling before? Are you flying in Saturday morning or plan on being at the show Saturday morning. Show out here start early and they start leaving early. First wave out at 1pm then fizzles to 3-4pm.

    SOME of the Special Cars on Display

    Metal Crafters will be debuting a convertible version of thier concept Cuda. You'll be the first to see it. It's like this but a convertible.



    Modern Muscle will have it's 71 Challenger with it's bolt on suspension peices there too.



    Also for A-body fans, the orange 71 340 Demon super survivor that was in all the magazines will be on hand too. A great reference for restoration information. Take lots of detailed pictures.

    The cars can't leave until 1pm. They start leaving then. Shows here start early the swap meet will be a madhouse at 7am.

    Cruise In starts around 5:30 pm.

    Spring Fling Saturday Night All Mopar Cruise-In
    At Cruiser's Car Wash. The resturant inside Cruiser's will be open and also there is an In and Out, Quiznos, Pinkberry, Korean BBQ on that side of the street within 100 yards.

    Across the street is a El Torrito and Marie Calenders.

    Folks,

    The first Coastal Cruise to Spring Fling is just days away. I can’t wait.

    Joanna and I drove the coast road from Monterey to the Madonna Inn on Saturday and we can report the road is in great shape with almost no construction. The weather report indicates excellent conditions so all is ready.

    We will stop to stretch at a few locations on the coast. One should be perfect for a group shot, another will let you get close to nature. Bring your binoculars as the whales should be easy to spot. We were able to get to the Madonna Inn in a little over 3 hours so you should plan for a lunch break some time between 1:00 and 2:00.

    I will be driving the Superbird and Joanna will bring the truck and our flat car trailer. If anyone has car trouble we will be able to get you to the show. There are about a dozen cars that have showed interest, I hope everyone shows up with a friend or two.
