M88   Quater Panel Tape Treatment

Legitimate decode, but not until much later, & not on a Cuda, ever.

M88 is deck molding treatment for this car, this year.   ;)

Online decoders do not recognize model / model year specifics. Their spelling sucks too.  :dunno:

Barry, this tag is coded for a front rubber bumper and its a 70. The A21 designation is on the 3rd line, not the second. Is this an actual rubber bumper car?

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Is it possible that some left the factory in 70? I know the code on my brother in laws R/T SE is on the second to the last line. He has no idea because it did not have a bumper or grille when he bought it and he never found a build sheet in it. All he has to go on is the fender tag.

Well, a quite a few 1970 Barracudas / Cudas had them.....

The painted bumpers were available in the Barracuda line for the 1970 model year.

The painted bumpers on Challengers were available starting with the 1971 model year.  ;)

The A21 or A22 on a 1970 Challenger tag near the end of the second line up is actually the SPD (Scheduled Production Date) A21 is October 21, 1969 & A22 is October 22, 1969 (1970 model year).

Oh duh, I thought that yellow tag was from a Challenger. It doesnt matter to me but I know my brother in law is taking it pretty hard that his R/T SE was not coded for a front rubber bumper. He does admit that the code is on the second to last line on the first tag.
