help!! do i need a tranny shiled??

hi all, hope ur all well..
i have a 340 and a 929 tranny , my dumb question now is do i need a tranny shield?? at the moment i do not have one?

"929" ? I've never heard of that spec transmission before. Is it a Manual or automatic and did you mean 727 or 904?? What has been done to your 340 engine? What kind of power are you pushing out. It won't hurt but is overkill on a stock engine.

i have a mild 340 with abot 300 hp nothing crazy, the 904 tranny i know its not the 727 for sure. sorry for the confusion
thanks angus young  :wave:.would i still need the shield? im building a daily driver with a pro touring look

IMO I don't think you need one at all, you'll be perfectly fine. The 904 is stout.
Wait for a few more replies though as I'm no expert but from what I've learnt you'll be safe.

the 904 also had a few varient versions - 998 / 999 , no 929 that i have ever heard of though

The inspection plate is not a necessaty on a Mopar Auto.  It is good practice to use one to keep foriegn objects out of the convertor area, try not to do much dirt and gravel driving as a rock could do damage to an open box.

End of the day it is what you feel comfortable with. :2thumbs:

Not too bad then, or if you waited and have time going to swapmeets and such you should be able to pickone up for around $5-$20 i would of thought.  But with shipping is alright and sounds as if you do need one. :2thumbs:
