INTAKE CHANGE STOCK TO STOCK

OK, got a 73 challenger with a 318ci I am converting from a 2brl stock intake to a stock 4brl. (W/ Edelbrock carb) Trying to maintain a stock look and the intake was free. Any tips or curve balls I need to keep an eye out for durring that conversion? :bricks1:
   Also does anyone make a ready-made block off plate for the exhost port on the side of the intake for that smog dyophram. I want to take if off but can not find a plate and don't have the means to make my own. ANY HELP?  :1zhelp:

Good call but I have this post 79 intake ready to install. So no one makes a block plate off the shelf?

Chrysler sold these - part number 3671448.  Never bought one, just made them out of 1/4" scrap.  What Edelbrock carb are you going to use, since that manifold is for a spread-bore?

you will need to work with the throttle cable braket to make it work & may need to modify the kickdown linkage as well so it still works correctly

  I am using a standard 600 edelbrock carb on the stock intake. I have a Mr. Gasket adapter. I wondered though if I can use the lokar throttle cable, bracket, and kick down to avoid the hassle of adapting the stock items. Can you use the stock cable with the lokar brackets? I work at a hot rod shop so I can get these parts pretty easly.

Yea I saw that on the kick down. About replacing the throttle cable. How do I attach the cable to my stock pedal? That was my hang up on that. I don't thing the end will mate up correctly without a trick of some kind. Maybe wrong. Let me know!!

Oh and how hard is it to attach the lokar kickdown?

One little goofy thing I did 20 years ago and I say someone do on a 340 a few weeks ago- watch the front and rear rubber intake gaskets as they may move/slip out of postion when putting the new manifold on, look for oil leaks in these areas.  Don't use too much silicone stuff as it may make the gaskets squeeze out.  If it does, like I did 20 years ago, you may be able to just clean up the area that is leaking and dab on some silicone to stop the leak.  :2cents:  Have fun!   :cheers:

it doesn`t take much to make the thrittle cable work but why repalce it , just a nut on the cable will hold it into the pedal
 the kickdown cable is not hard to set up
 I usually eliminate the rubber  or cork end seals & just use a bead of silicone across each end of the inatke
