I got no complaints of the Doug's headers.  They do have a 1 5/8 tube though.  Nice for the $$.  Do not go under the steering.

Big tube is good for your stroker, however for a 340 it'd be best to keep a smaller header tube to keep velocity up and keep some of his torque ;)

One of the local Mopar salvage guys once told me that tti headers are modeled on the Doug's headers.  I don't know if that's true.

I bit the bullit and bought TTi, so many good reports, ( didn't tell my wife what they cost though   :money:  ) the unknown brand fitted now scrapped all the way from Kansas to California, thought they were going to come off a couple of times when crossing bridges.   :faint:

Ok Guys ...heres the info
Nothing is set in stone except the .030 over.  Will be 4bbl prob 700-750.  can go headers or manifolds...cam is not purchasd yet....3.91 gears...4-speed ( well 3sp OD trans to go on the highway).  I want it to jump ...again was looking at a hughes cam or comp cam  .550 lift and at .050 duration int 228 and exh 240...I have 1.6 roller rockers.  was thinking of some good overlap with more open exhaust ..i was thinking of using Rhodes lifters for more bottom end and better vac and smoth it at idle a bit...Power breaks, manual steering.

Any thoughts??

I have Hooker Super Comp's 1 3/4" x 3" - 34" length. Both over link,  fit great with auto or 4spd. power steering or manual..

I would use the Engle over the Comp cam , it depends where you want the power band  but something like a K56/K58 split pattern would work , CL & overlapo would change depending on manifolds or headers . 1.6 rockers could help if the flow is there with more lift or could just beat up valve springs if the port work will not support the extra lift

Check them out....
I have the coated ones..
Hey, I'm happy with them and there about 20yrs old already.
(quick note) also , alot of headers have a problem with #5 & #7 spark plug wires these are good with straight boots all around. plenty of room..

I got TTI's on a 340 E bod  . They point downhill at the collectors.Could be higher. I was considering Doug's too. :dunno: The fit of the TTI's was very good. I went with the matte finish.I wanted ones that did not drop under the steering.

Has anyone ever hooked up TTi Exhaust to Hooker Super Comp headers?  Do they line up cleanly?

it works once you get enough dents into the Hookers to get them to fit

Tom

Is that stainless exhaust or just steel?  If stainless where did you get it?  I am looking for stainless exhaust without the H or X pipe.

Does anyone know where to 2 1/2 inch SS Exhaust w/o the X or H Pipe?
