Winternationals
« on: February 21, 2004 - 12:33:27 PM »
So I went to the Winternationals at Pomona, CA yesterday.  First time at the drags.  Unbelievable!!!

It was about 60 degrees with a strong breeze, but rain from about 1:00 PM on stopped the qualifying.  Still, being in the staging areas when the nitro cars fired up the engines was amazing.  Natural reaction was to cover my ears, but then my eyes started burning and running.  I could close my eyes, but when my nose started burning from the fumes, I had to back off.

My older, more experienced friend got quite a kick out of watching me--from a safe distance.   ;D

Awesome ;D

Pomona puts on the best show in NHRA

I always try to visit the museum when we are there too.

Each time I go I wonder what it's like to live in one of
those houses on the hill overlooking the track :D

That would be a cool place to live twice a year ;D

I live 'bout 3 miles from there in La Verne.  "I love the sound of dragsters in the morning...sounds like, victory!"
