Mike, I managed to dig up my formulas for calculating sway bar loads. If you can lay out the bar and give me a couple of dimensions, perhaps we can figure out how rigid this bar maybe for your application. I need the length of the arms from the bushing eye center to the center of the main bar. I also need the width of the bar from side to side, not including the radius on the corners of the bend to the arms. Oh, and let me know if the arms are at 90 degrees to the main bar, or at an angle. If at an angle, then I need the width from bushing eye to bushing eye.

MT, I have a factory bar I bought last year, brackets and everything.  I decided to pretty much go all original on my car.  I was going to, but now I dont think I will.  Does it have to be perfect?

@HP2
wow HP, thanks. Let me get those specs together for you. Its looking very likely that I will end up having to use this axle hung bar now. Not only does the 2" drop affect space for the OEM bar but my more recent disc brake instal puts the short flex line almost directly above the end link hole. The holes need to be relocated inbd as I have relocated springs but this may not be enough to clear the brake lines.

I have since acquired an OEM sway bar and would have no use for another one. Had I not found this one I would certainly entertain a swap. As explained above, however, I may use the Hellwig after all, in which case I too will have an OEM bar for sale.

No problem. You've moved things around enough that even with the bigger size, the Hellwig bar may actually be closer to stock in its applied rate. I've got the stock specs already figured out for sway bar, torsion bar, and spring loads, so all we'll have to do is recalc the spring loads with your relocated position, add in the Hellwig stuff, and then we can have an apples to apples comparison of your modified set up against a stock set up.

On a tangent, I was looking for some old suspenison workbooks of mine from my oval track days to work out some figures for G-man. I found several folders of stuff from when I was running chevys and fords, but suprisingly, I have very little in the way of mopar calculations. I guess it is because I started with mopars, got tired of tearing them up and switched brands, then I got into the more technical side of things because the chevy dynamics basically sucked. So I'm taking the opportunity to load up a workbook of mopar specific specs on things. So this all helps me out too.

Sorry to revive this thread, but it seemed like a pretty good way for me to get my word out.  It turns out that I have the same model Hellwig 6903 rear sway bar that MT was initially looking to off-load, that I am looking to get rid of.  It has been on my car for about a year, but I just mounted a set of MP Sub-frame connectors, and it turns out the sway bar mounts on the frame are in the same spot where the back of the connectors mount.  There is minor wear and tear, but no damage, with one exception.  The sway bar mounts to the frame brackets with a solid bolt and no bushings, and the bolts actually snapped when I took a hard turn.  It looks like they might have modified this mounting method since then, though.  I was going to modify them by using a short set of end links in place of the solid bolts, but ended up pulling it off before doing that.  I am looking for $75 plus shipping, or a trade + cash (from me) for an original setup or aftermarket that mounts like the original.  Please PM me if anyone might be interested.  I am in Dallas if anyone local might be interested.
