Need HELP with shipping the '71 challey hood I bought!
« on: June 04, 2008 - 07:20:49 PM »
Anyone close to or know any trucking-shipping companies that run thru Monroe, Conn. to Iowa? I bought a flat challey hood for my car to put a '68 Hemi Dart scoop on so my cross-ram would fit. Any help would be appreciated!  :grinyes: Thanks, Dave

Sorry wish i could help, but it should be interesting to see a super stock scoop on an ebody. Always secretly wanted one on my cuda, felt the cuda style could pull it off...challenger will be interesting to see!

Thanks Goody, I got this hood bought for $80.00! Been in dry storage for 25 years. It's the only way I can go and have a hood fit the cross-ram. I think I got one hell of a deal as long as I can get it here to Iowa.  :grinyes:

I guarantee you the shipping will be more than u paid for it.
When I redid my chally, I sold the old door panels, kick panels and sun visors.
I was quoted from 300 to 450, ups to freight co's.
It wasn't heavy, just an oversized box.

I had to ship it in 3 separate boxes that I trimmed down to fit, total 70 bucks.
The UPS store wanted 80 bucks for a large carton big enough to hold it all.
I went behind the local walmart and pulled some nice cardboard out of the dumpsters and taped several pieces together to make the custom boxes.
But u can't do that with your hood.

Try a Grayhound bus terminal. I heard that their rates are really cheap compared to others. A lot of people on ebay use them to ship large body parts.
