Ok, I'll be honest.......If I ordered one new Plymouth in 1970?
A triple black Hemi 4 speed Cuda, no options but power steering and Rallye wheels.
Second choice would have been a 1970 AAR Either Tor Red(Hemi Orange) or Rallye Red, 4 speed with rubber bumpers.

Flash forward one year.......In 1971 I would have ordered either;

A 4 speed Hemi Cuda, or a 4 speed 340 Cuda with a Shaker hood, either car would have been probably Tor Red (Hemi Orange) and loaded with options.

Favorite Challenger is easy: 1971 340 or Hemi 4 speed, Top Banana (Lemon Twist) yellow, front and rear spoilers, shaker hood, rubber bumpers, R/T longitudal stripes, and rear wrap around stripes in black. Black interior.
These cars with the rear rubber bumpers with the upper part painted black and the lower painted yellow give the cars a sort of stocky mean look!

*Bottom line? In 1970 I was 8 years old and quite happy riding in the back of dads 57 Chevy stepside with a 350 and headers :)

It was not a fake (well maybe that particular one could have been but they did make 1 or 2 of them) One was actually used in the Brady Bunch! I heard one was a special order car and another was actually converted starting with a 1971 convertible and updating it with 72 trim and stuff. I'm a bit fuzzy on the details because I read the story about 10 years ago. I think one of them was a gold color.

hello. im new here

I can answer the 72 E-body convert question

In the late 60s and early 70s crysler supplied alot of their cars to the tv shows. There was 70 chally sold to the tv company. during the same time, there was a 70 cuda. The studios updated the 70 cars each year for the shows. Mannix used the 70 cuda ragtop, then made it into a 71, then a 72. IT was the same car. Same with the 70 chally ragtop. IT was converted to a 71, then a 72. Crysler NEVER made a 72 ragtop chally or cuda, not even quitetly and out the back door
Hope this helps
Andy
