another newby here
« on: June 03, 2008 - 08:55:04 PM »
Hi all. This is newby Sprecks. I'm a long time Mopar addict and usually an e-body is in the stable. I bought my first Challenger in '75 and have owned a "few" since then. For the past twelve years my main ride has been a 1971 Challenger convertible that I transplanted a hemi into. I completely restored it and called it done, but this past winter I decided to re-do it all over again. So it is currently torn down getting prepped for a new coat of paint. I got the new fenders and floor pans from Goodmark and converted a flat hood into a shaker using the Harms kit. It is going to stay red with a white interior and top. It has an automatic with manual valve body. Dana 60 with 3.54 gears. Hooker super comp headers with 3 inch TTI exhaust. It's a blast to drive and I really need to get it done before this summer gets away. That's about it without boring you with details about past rides. Looks like a pretty cool site. Hope to hang out here in my spare time.

This is embarrassing. I went to the picture file and all of the pictures of the car before I started the current re-do are missing. I did find some of the current restoration in progress pics. I'll have to get some more up to date pictures tomorrow and get them posted. It's a lot further along now than this picture shows. Sorry about that.

  Welcome to the forum Sprecks.  I bet it feels great cruising in your '71 with top down and the pedal to the metal listening to the HEMI roar.  I think I need to take a cold shower!   :smilielol:

Here's another picture of the car after its first restoration. Sorry it's so small. I stole it from my sig pic over on moparts. I'll probably go ahead and start posting restoration pics in the restoration thread area. Thanks for all of the welcome greetings.
