New Springs Now Rear is Not Level
« on: June 24, 2008 - 08:58:03 AM »
I got some new Espo springs installed (5 leaf +1.5") and the car sits nice on the passenger side but the drivers side is 1/2" lower.  A buddy said I could just crank the driver side torsion bar up.  Will this work?

I would check the amount of thread hanging out on each side on the torsion bars first and if they are the same measurement i would look at swapping over the rear springs from left to right as it is better to have to higher side on the driver side to compensate for the weight of the driver as more often than not you will be the only one in the car and it will settle in to place nicely. :swaying: :2thumbs:

adsjusting the front bars will load the opposite corner so back off the passenger T bar or increase the load on the drivers side to level the car

Took measurements all around at the wheel well arch.  The front driver side was 1" lower than the passenger side and the torsion bar screw was 1/2" further out.  I know they adjusted one side when I had the front end done.  Perhaps they adjusted it because of the bagged rear springs.  I cranked the driver side up and now the front is within 1/4" side to side and the rears are the same at 27 3/4".  The front is about 27 1/2".  By the way, this is with new Espo springs 5 leaf/ +1 1/2" and 275/60/15's.
Thanks guys.
