My fenders were not correctly installed ,they have  bigger gaps in the area of the upper doors and they also seem to shake and have lots of movement in the upper door area when the car is running........  Any tips on how to get the proper fit for the front fender?    I

That is a tuffy. It akes a lot of time and keep the body line correct. If they put the fender sealer goop in between the inner and outer fender, it will not slide in and out or front to back easy. If the car is painted it will be tuff. Also the grill would need to be out to get the fit easier. Washers go at the top back of the fender and down on the rear bottom to help shim. You have your hands full and all you can do is loosen, ship , push pry and pull, untill you get it right.  And remember you have the hood lines to deal with to.

Are they fiberglass fenders?  If they are the original metal and are tightened down all the way, I'm not sure how they would shake at idle.  Pictures would probably help us help you.

Found the  problem,,,,,,  the upper fender bolts on the under side closest to the window one is missing and the other one is not snugged down has a 1/16 inch gap.......  Not sure should there be shims ,washer ,sealer or something between the bolt and the fender?

if you mean the ones that go through the "L" bracket, the L bracket is slotted on the body side (if I remember right) so it may not require shims. If indeed these bolts are loose or missing, they can radically change the door gap and shape of the fender if you are not careful when adjusting/tightening.
