833 OD Bearing/Bellhousing

All,

Decided to heed Chryco's advice and go with an 833 OD conversion for my 440 Challenger. So far, have the 833 OD, pedal assy, and pistol grip shifter assy w/linkage.

On the bellhousing, I know on the other Kiesler post Chryco mentioned that the 5.1 bearing retainer can be machined down easily to fit a 4.8" bellhousing. Has anyone used the P4529696 part that is supposed to adapt a 5.1 to a 4.8 bellhousing?

Also, is it possible to adapt an auto floor console to 4 speed or do I need to hunt swap meets and ebay for a true 4 speed console?

the Auto console can be adapted , you need to cut the bottom edge to clear the shift boot, & you need a different top plate as the 4 speed is further forward
 Good luck getting P4529696 , I waited 4 months & it didn`t show up , it costs $50  , I can get the retainer cut for $10

Thanks Chryco, didnt realize those parts are so hard to come by. Will probably just have the retainer cut.

What do you think my chances are of coming by a big block bellhousing for the 5.1?

the chances of finding a big block bel with a 5.2 hole are Zero the factory Never used that combo & the aftermarket has zero demand for them

Thanks..guess that settles that...didnt know if any trucks came with a big block and the overdrive.
