Heater hose outlet

I am not using the outlet on the waterpump for the heater but I have to block it off somehow. Has anyone ran into this problem and what did you do? Thanks

Just place a short hose from the intake to the water pump.

Your talking about the bypass hose (larger), I'm talking about the heater hose (smaller). The bypass hose is staying on but I'm not running a heater.

You have two heater hoses, one from the intake to the heater core, and one from the water pump to the heater core. Bypass the heater core by putting the two hoses together; a short hose from the intake to the water pump.

 This might help,  on the 440  the hose nipples are threaded and very tight , you can take them out and then just get a brass plumbing  plug with some sealant , I did that 25 years ago  and still have the car today and never had any problems with those plugs

 I hear ya , that's why I said "MIGHT HELP".........  What does the heater hose on a SB connect to, if its a nipple they might just unthread and ya can plug them........

When i bought my barracuda it had the obvious sign of a leaking heater core, the looped water pump hoses. I hate that look.
I ended up removing the water pump and tapping the nipple and running a pipe thread setscrew down into it. Then I put a rubber heater hose cap on it so it looked complete. Worked perfectly fine until I put in the new dash pad and did the heater core at the same time. Long term permanent would be to cut it off flush and either use a nice flush mount allen headed pipe plug or have someone TIG it and grind it flat.

Don't know if they still have them, but 10 years ago in the 'help' section of the local parts store, they had caps that were made for this.  Sort of like a 1" peice of hose with one end blocked.  I used them and they worked.
