Anyone priced a 09 Challenger
« on: July 08, 2008 - 04:29:24 PM »
I went to my local dealership this past weekend and talked about ordering an 09.  I looked at the brochure, that he would not give me by the way, gave him my options codes, the sales manager disappeared into the office and bang out he came with a 35,000 dollar number.  It's about what I expected.....but....he states, "That's the price and whatever I feel I need to have on top of it since it's a "Heritage Edition"  (B5 blue, 6 speed, leather, Trak Pak with the Mustang / Cragar looking wheels).  It turned me completely off.  Are all the dealers going to pull this crap?

I will have a B5 Blue Challenger...just maybe not from around here in Mid-Missouri.  Thats my rant.

Tony

There are many dealerships that are taking orders at or below MSRP on the 2009's. Soon when the hype is over (it is coming soon) and dealerships are sitting on the 2008's that they want an arm and a leg for the prices will come back to reality. People aren't going to be paying outrageous prices for these cars for much longer the economy and gas prices are going to take their toll.

That's pretty ballsy of the guy to tell you right to your face that he will charge you extra whatever he feels.  I applaud you for walking out on him, and I hope you gave him a piece of your mind.  These guys need to check with reality before it passes them by.

I got mine for 500 over factory (1352 under MSRP) plus and incentives that become available up to the date it arrives.

When I met with the guy he said he would like to charge more but it will be full production so no dealers should be charging sticker. He was more than happy that he got to sell the 08's for 20k over though.

Before I ordered I told him I had to go do some research he just said "Great! Gotta keep me honest  :)" and then he made sure I took a brochure.

I dunno people seem to be having bad experiences... Just do research before hand and its usually wise to talk to them over the phone or through emails a bit before you head in so they know you know what your talking about and they don't have an opportunity to put you on the spot.

there's nothing worse than an uninformed consumer, no matter what you are purchasing, with the instant access of the internet, there's simply no excuse to not be fully informed when you decide to make a purchase, leave your emotions at home and make a solid buy based on facts and figures

The "build your own" link is now working for the 09!

www.4adodge.com

with prices!

The cheapest I could build the R/T with the 6 speed was 30,990, which I think is fairly reasonable

70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....
