Water in the carb
« on: July 20, 2008 - 08:19:08 AM »
I got some water in the gastank and evidently some of it ended up in my carb. After emptying the system it's still doesn't run when loaded.
Can the carburator have been damaged by having some water in it for a week or two? I have been driving the car between emptying the tank
but since water is heavier then gasoline the water in the carb has propably been sitting. Will try open it and see if I find something.  :1zhelp:

Have you tried putting some "Dry Gas" or fuel line anti freeze in?  It absorbs the water.  I have to do this in my boat periodicly.

WOW could you have had enough water in it to do damage?

The first thing that comes to mind is possible rust/other contamination in either jets or needles?

What kind of carb are you using?

You may have a complete tear down, dipping and re-build needed if you are sure you car was fine till the carb had water in it.

That's good too if you think you still have the "bad gas" in your system.

They sell water injection systems for cars so I doubt that a little water is gonna hurt a motor.  :misbehaving:

Opened the carb, it was full of ****. Propably missed something at reassembly because it's keep hangning at higher RPM's.
It's a new eddy 800 cfm, took my old 600 on and the car runs good again.
