I tell ya what man,

At Carlisle we were parked just across the grass from the 08 Challenger lineup.  At first I thought, "Wow!!  There they are!!  Finally!"  Then I looked again and realized, "Wow, 6 Challengers right in a row - everyone absolutely identical."  You stood there and looked left, and it was an orange Challenger.  You looked right, more orange Challengers.  There was nothing unique except one had a different wheel design.

On the same token, I was the ONLY White 'Cuda in the Ebody area (that I saw, at least.)  The ONLY ONE.

Think about it - that's all I'm saying.

Jeff

I hear you but then again we cannot control how Chrysler rolls out new cars. I personally think they are screwing up by not flooding the market with lots more colors and options right out of the gate. People who are ready to buy now do not want to have to wait to get different colors, hood, stripe options....... or droptops   :woohoo:
1971 Challenger (OO==== ====OO) getting close!
1970 Challenger (OO########OO) long ways off

It is a bit of an odd marketing strategy, but to me what makes it work is the fact that you only need to wait about 3-4 months until the 09's are out with all the options.  They generated the huge media blitz with the 08 SRTs first, then will feed the masses with the 09s.  As far as selling my classic to buy a new one, I would never do that personally, but I certainly will not fault anyone who would.  I would love to be able to buy an 09, but that's not in the cards right now.  Come on big Bucks, no Wammies!!

They already had an 09 at the show.  I'm not sure how it got there, but it was an 09 with a 6 speed manual transmission.  It was red.  I can get pictures later.

They have a number of test mules out with the 6 speed.  It will probably be another one of those that get crushed when the 09s go on sale.

I saw the 09's there is a dealer who has 3 of them near me.Kenny looked at them personally.The car is nice car i am waiting until 2010 to see the convertible and also to let dodge work out any bugs then i will look at getting one.By this time also i will have kenny's truck paid off and be able to afford the payment for a new challenger.We just decided to wait right after we first saw one instead of running out to get one.

A buddy of mine called last night and told me he was thinking of selling his 71 Cuda and get a new Chally. He asked what I though but I told him it's his decition not mine. I know I wouldn't sell my Chally for one but I might the Road Runner. Especially since we just bought the Duster. MY E BODY STAYS PUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ghost hasn't written back to us BTW 'cause he plays way too many video games!

I'd have snapped a photo of my Xbox Desktop screen showing that he was playing, but didn't really feel like going through the hassle.  :)
