Secret Ashtray...
« on: June 29, 2008 - 09:22:50 PM »
I got this really neat 3 switch panel online a while back and I've been wondering where I would put it so A. I could see it and B. It would be easy to reach and use.  So I came up with the ashtray.  I already cut out the back of my ashtray earlier this year b/c I upgraded my wiring and put a bigger fuse box in, which required me modifying the ashtray a little bit.  Now, I just added a few aluminum supports on the ashtray, velcro to hold the switch to the ashtray and badda-bing!  Watcha think?

Pretty cool.  What are the switches for?  My vacuum gauge currently resides in my ash tray.

For #3 I suggest Warp Drive Enable.  :jumping:

I keep my IPOD in the Ashtray.  Looks good Bob, maybe you can use one as a kill switch or something?

You probably don't smoke then...right?  :poopoke:   I use mine for little trinkets and screws that fall off.LoL.  Where did you get those switches...or covers?   I was going to use one for my electric fans. But they were 25 bucks!! I like the little lights. I need something with a light and cover for my stuff. I forgot to turn on the fans once... :banghead:  I like the ones you chose!!      :2thumbs:

No, no smoking here....but I used to use mine the same way you do....LOL....all sorts of screws and such were in there!   I got the switches off of ebay  :ebay:....here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-Toggle-Switch-LED-Nitrous-Activate-Race-PANEL-RED_W0QQitemZ120280025253QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120280025253&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318  Pretty cheap price if you ask me.....but I know the switch you are talking about for $25.00...these aren't the same, but they are strong and durable (so far).  The red cover is a sticker/seal, so you can notice the minor (and I do mean minor) imperfections in the covers.  BUT, the nice thing about the switch board is, the switches are held in with the standard nut that comes with the switch, so if you wanted to replace the old switch with a nicer one, or different color, you can.  :2thumbs:
