I have a Z-bar that came with my 833 and I was told it came from a 71-74 B-Body.Will this work on my 71 Challenger? How can you tell the difference from one Z-bar to the next.If this is the wrong one for me does anyone know if it is the right one for a 71 Roadrunner.Thanks Chuck

Not sure on how many different types but IIRC there is a big and small block version for each body style. I would check Brewer's website as they sell repro's for A, B and E bodies. http://www.brewersperformance.com/products.asp?id=105

On the Brewer's site it looks like the 1970-1971 E-body/1971-2 B-body big block applications with 10.5" bellhousing use the same and the 1966-70 B-body big block, 1970-74 E-body & 1971-74 B-body small block use the other one.Does anyone have a measurement on a small block car and a big block car so I can see with one I have?

it will interchange with the E body & looks correct , the small block & big block bar is about 1/2 " different in width but usually will work either way

Newbie Question...

What is a Z-Bar? I'm assuming that its what the clutch pedal connects to to engage/disengage the clutch - mounted to the firewall?

That's correct, although it's not mounted to the firewall, but to the driver's side framerail and the clutch lever. Here's a photo.

Z-bar is a Chebby term, torque shaft is MoPar
