727/904 Trans. How much of what kind of Fluid?

I cant find my old post that Tacttransman responded to. Im putting a deep trans pan on my 727, and I'll be sticking a new seal on my fathers 904 pan.

typically you will lose approx 1 gallon but add slowly , it is easier to add then remove , remember to check the level in Neutral
 what fluid are you using now ? Dextron 3 is typical

Im pretty sure its Dextron Mercron 3, Its been so long since ive put fluid in it......

Best  bet is to try and measure what comes out, I usually have about 8 quarts or so on hand when dropping my pan. Between my two coolers, +1 quart pan, time it's been sitting before removal, etc..all varies. I run type f
