Chinese Tire Valve Stem Recall
« on: July 27, 2008 - 07:54:38 PM »
I thought you Guys and Gals would like to know that Dill Air Control (Chinese) is recalling their valve stems for cracking.  Anywhere from 6 to 30 million valve stems.  One fatality has already occured.  Discount Tire sent me a recall letter on this.  So even if I try to buy American  :wavingflag: something from China still gives it a bad rap.  I know you guys n gals will chime in on the Chinese Junk flooding the market and putting American out of work or worse killing them.  So don't get me started, wait a minute I think I already did that myself.

And yet the Chinese are upset because we're creating all this publicity over it and giving Chinese products and workers a bad reputation...

To be fair, not all Chinese products are crap. Like not all American, New Zealand, Australia and UK goods are good. If you can overcome the caveman mentality that "Chinese/Asia = cheap poorly made products" you'll be surprised just how good some of the stuff is. I do agree though that slave labour is forcing big global companies to seek labour like at some Chinese manufactures. Not a case of want, they simply can't afford or compete against companies who have their goods made for 17c a month. Sad but truth. I just think it's a big generalisation to class all Chinese stuff as crap. Just being fair and honest is all.  ;)
