Video: My 70 Cuda AAR Tribute on the dyno (no sound)
« on: July 29, 2008 - 07:24:26 PM »
This was a spontanious thing I did yesterday.  I went to go help a friend tune his car and he finished early.  The shop owner couldn't help but to throw my car on

The only thing I had was my pocket camera and I thought it had a microphone - but I guess not.  Admittedly, the video is pretty boring without the sound.  But wow, it sure roared nicely!!!  I'll have to go back and take my video camera.

Hehe, well... it was her first pull with no tuning yet  ;)  We calculated crank at 475hp@5500rpm/550ft@4500rpm  The curves look great, but I think there's opportunity in the cam for more top end power.  The restriction is not in the heads.  I don't mind how she runs as it is though!  It's got some serious torque accross the entire band.  Super fun to drive!

Car looks great and has some great actual numbers to go with too!

Tom :2thumbs:

I'm hoping that this fall I can get to a chassis dyno for some fine tuning.

Thanks!  I think fine tuning is key.  There's 1000 miles on the motor now.  Being a solid roller, I need to set the valve lash (haven't touched it yet) and then go 2 sizes larger on the main jets.  We'll then be able to fine tune it on the dyno from there.  I'm expecting to see 500hp - we'll see!  Perhaps not taking it when it's 101 degrees outside would help too

Sweet, I'm planning on a jet change as well up 2 sizes F+R as well.  I bet not going when it's 101 will help too!

I've done about 2500-3000 miles this summer so far.  Been great so far.  Gas stinks but oh well.
