Hood Hinges
« on: August 03, 2008 - 09:55:06 AM »
I use to have a 70 Cuda and the hood never closed right . I would have to walk around and push down the back 2 corners . Changing the hinges didn't help ; I am now doing a 70 Challenger and the same thing .Anyone know why this is ? :chatting:

Loosen the front hinge bolts and push up on the hood(hinge to inner fender), this drops the rear of the hood when it closes. This assumes that the hinges are not worn at the rivits.

I had the same problem, but all I had to do was use some oil on the moving parts. I guess I got off easy.

Mee too.. :walkaway:   It's the worn pins on mine. Just one side. There's some repops for around 300 I'm considering.

Or SMS. Re-builds..   :money:

My Cuda always had this problem as well.  Given that it's so common, I'm surprised that no one makes a rebuild kit for the hinges???   :dunno:
